NOTE TO OUR CUSTOMERS: Bulk pick-up is a free service provided to those garbage customers inside the city limits of Adamsville. Sometimes the city workers are required to help out in other areas, (for example; water/gas leak repairs, special events, cemetery clean-up, etc.), and since the bulk pick-up is a courtesy service they may be pulled off and used in different areas. A customer must call to schedule pick-up and if the city workers are not pulled to do other jobs the bulk will be picked up as scheduled. If by chance they are pulled off to do other work, the bulk will be picked up at the next available date for the city workers.

All poly carts are emptied by Waste Connection. The holidays observed are: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. The carts will be emptied on the next business day following those holidays.

By the City working with the McNairy County Recycling Center, we can recycle many more items than we did before and continue to reduce the City’s costs at the landfills. As the McNairy County landfill is now closed due to a wall falling down we cannot pick up bulk trash as we did before, so being able to recycle a lot of things is helping the City a lot and providing somewhere to put the items.

In addition to the plastic, paper, cans and cardboard we picked                  up before, we added the following items to our recycling list:

                        Clothes               Shoes               Purses          Belts

Cooking pots & pans            Paint & paint cans

Electronics-all sizes (no TV’s)        Glass items (no wind shields)

Appliances-all sizes             Computer Monitors

(For large appliances call City Hall 731-632-1401                      and  we will pick them up at the street)

We still cannot accept Styrofoam, TV’s and wood.

We have regular curbside pick-ups every other week for Adamsville City residents who are registered at City Hall. There is a large trailer behind City Hall to put your items in if you are not on city pick-up, (county residents) or if you need to bring it by before or after the scheduled date of pick-up. Bags are available, at no charge, in the City Hall office.  Thank you for recycling and for helping to keep the landfill rates down and make our community a clean place to live.
